Dr Massimiliano Fiore is an international historian and military analyst whose work explores the intersection of empire, strategy, and diplomacy. His research examines Fascist Italy, the Anglo-Italian imperial rivalry in the Middle East, the origins of the Second World War, Axis naval cooperation, and the Arab–Israeli conflict, with his recent work focusing on Jewish arms procurement efforts and covert operations during the 1948 war.
He has taught and advised at leading institutions including King’s College London’s Department of War Studies, the London School of Economics and Political Science, the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, and the University of Exeter. He is currently Associate Professor of International History and War Studies at Rabdan Academy in the United Arab Emirates.
Dr Fiore is the author of a widely regarded book on Anglo-Italian relations in the Middle East and numerous peer-reviewed articles, editorials, and policy papers. His research has been supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the School of Social Sciences and Public Policy Research Studentship, and the University of London Scholarship Fund.
Originally from Italy, he earned degrees in Political Science (Naples), International Affairs (Milan), and Diplomatic Studies (Rome) before completing both an MA and a PhD in War Studies at King’s College London.
